Discernment
The gift of discernment is the ability to determine whether certain teachings or actions originate from God, humanity, or Satan. Essentially it is the unique capacity to distinguish truth from error. Scriptural Reference: I Corinthians 12:10
The gift of evangelism is the ability to introduce Jesus Christ to unbelievers clearly and with frequent positive response. Essentially it is the desire and capacity to share the gospel effectively with those who are not yet Christians. Scriptural Reference: Ephesians 4:11
Faith
The gift of faith is the ability to see God's purpose in a situation and to trust His wisdom and power to accomplish that purpose. Essentially it is the gift of vision that enables one to believe God for what seems impossible. Scriptural Reference: 1 Corinthians 12:9
Giving
The gift of giving is the unique capacity to comprehend the financial needs related to the growth of God’s kingdom and to meet those needs by contributing eagerly and generously. Essentially it is the ability to give sacrificially to the Lord’s work. Scriptural Reference: Romans 12:8
Helps (Serving)
The gift of helps is the unique capacity to recognize practical needs and to meet them joyfully and efficiently, thereby freeing other Christians to perform their ministries. Essentially it is providing behind-the-scenes assistance to support the overall work of the church. Scriptural Reference: 1 Peter 1:10
Hospitality
The gift of helps is the unique capacity to welcome individuals or groups into one’s home in order to share fellowship, food, or lodging. Essentially it is the desire and willingness to open one’s home to others. Scriptural Reference: 1 Peter 4:9
The gift of intercession is the ability to consistently pray on behalf of and for others, seeing frequent specific results. Scriptural Reference: Romans 8:26-27
Knowledge
The gift of knowledge is the unique capacity gain deep insight into Biblical truth by means of careful research and serious study. Essentially it is the ability to uncover the great principles of God’s Word. Scriptural Reference: 1 Corinthians 12:8
Leadership
The gift of leadership is the ability to cast vision, motivate and direct people to harmoniously accomplish the purpose of God. Scriptural Reference: Romans 12:8
Mercy
The gift of mercy is the ability to feel sincere compassion beyond normal Christian sympathy for persons who are in distress and to provide practical support to meet their needs. Essentially it is a cheerful ministry to the undeserving and to those in crisis. Scriptural Reference: Romans 12:8
Prophecy
The gift of prophecy is the ability to reveal God's truth and proclaim it in a timely and relevant manner for understanding, correction, repentance or edification. Scriptural Reference: Romans 12:6
Shepherding
The gift of shepherding is the ability to care for a specific group of Christians by guiding, nurturing, and protecting them. Essentially it is taking responsibility for the spiritual growth of a specific group of believers. Scriptural Reference: Ephesians 4:11-12
Teaching
The gift of teaching is the ability to understand, clearly explain and apply the Word of God, in such a way that it is clearly understood by others. Scriptural Reference: Romans 12:7
Wisdom
The gift of wisdom is the ability to apply scriptural truth effectively to meet a need in a specific situation. Scriptural Reference: I Corinthians 12:8
