A.C.T.I.O.N.

All Children Together In Our Neighborhood (A.C.T.I.O.N.) is a free before and after school outreach program to children in the 5th-8th grades attending Neely's Bend, Issac Litton and Madison Middle Schools. Registration is required.

The program's mission is to reach out to the youth of our community and provide a safe and supervised place for before and after school recreation, fellowship, and education. We also want to provide social and spiritual growth in the lives of these young people.

Many of the children we serve are "at risk." This means they are from single parent homes, in a lower economic bracket, and are behind in their educational studies. Our A.C.T.I.O.N. program and staff are committed to bettering the lives of our young people to give them opportunities that will change their lives and the lives of those in their community.

Our program functions at no cost to families. We raise operating monies via fundraisers and donations. Our largest fundraiser is the annual "Maxwell Cares for Kids Community Golf Classic."  The 2009 Golf Classic was held August 27 and raised over $20,000 for the program.  A.C.T.I.O.N. also received a grant for $2,500 from the Peyback Foundation, whose founder is Peyton Manning, in the summer of 2009.

ACTION meets Monday-Friday during the school year from 6:30 a.m.-8:00 a.m. and 4:15 p.m.-5:30 p.m. In the morning, students are given breakfast, participate in a group team-building game, and have a devotion and prayer time before heading off to school. In the afternoon, snacks are provided, followed by homework and tutoring time and group game/activity time.
